PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
LINEAEFFE OCEAN CAST 080 is a powerful fixed‑spool surf reel designed for beach and heavy shore fishing, offering strong line capacity, smooth winding and the toughness needed for saltwater use. It is well suited to casting big leads and baits for species such as cod, bass and rays, as well as general heavy ledgering from piers and rock marks.
Body, drive and bearings
-
Built around a robust surf‑reel body with a worm shaft drive system that lays line evenly on the spool, improving casting distance and line management.
-
Features 5 ball bearings to provide smooth rotation under load, helping the reel wind steadily even when retrieving heavy leads or fish in strong tide.
-
One‑way clutch (instant anti‑reverse) gives solid hook‑sets and eliminates handle back‑play, improving control when striking and playing fish.
Spool and line capacity
-
Supplied with deep and shallow spools, allowing you to tailor the reel to heavier or lighter line setups as required.
-
Line capacity is approximately 430 yards on one spool and 320 yards on the other (capacity varies with line diameter), giving plenty of reserve for long casts and powerful runs.
-
Front drag system gives direct, progressive control over pressure on the fish, ideal for surf conditions where you need to fine‑tune drag quickly.
Handle, rotor and saltwater use
-
Fitted with a strong metal fighting handle that provides a secure grip and extra cranking power when retrieving in heavy surf or tide.
-
Balanced rotor helps reduce wobble at speed, making the reel feel smoother and more controlled during fast winding.
-
Saltwater‑resistant design makes it suitable for regular sea use, with construction aimed at coping with spray, sand and harsh coastal environments (with normal cleaning and care).
Typical applications
-
Ideal partner for surfcasting and beach rods when targeting larger sea species at range.
-
Versatile enough for pier, rock and estuary work where a high‑capacity, powerful reel is needed.
